Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun: A New Member’s First PRSSA Social Experience

It’s the scariest time of the year… midterm season. Just kidding!

Halloween is near and there’s no better way to get into the spirit of the season than by watching spooky movies, and decorating pumpkins with your peers at school. When it comes to spooky movies there’s many that fit the bill, but only a few are considered cult classics.

So which movie was chosen as the backdrop for this social?

“Hocus Pocus” was the film of the night!  It was nice being able to watch the movie and remember the nostalgic memories of watching “Hocus Pocus” as a kid.

Not only did we enjoy a screening of “Hocus Pocus” during this week’s meeting, but we did some pumpkin decorating as well! From eyeballs, pipe cleaners, and glitter glues – anything was possible. It was cool to see how creative everyone was with their ideas, and we got to witness some clever artists at work. We had pumpkins decorated like Mickey Mouse, a kitty cat, a bunny, a spider, and some that were out-of-the-box creative!

Aside from watching “Hocus Pocus” and pumpkin decorating, we definitely had more treats than tricks during this week’s meeting. We had pizza, drinks, and Halloween themed donuts! Yum!

Not only was our pumpkin party so much fun, it was also a great way to relieve stress and get away from all the hours of studying and writing papers. We also talked about our internships, class assignments, and future events we are working on!

CSUN PRSSA’s Director of Public Relations, Justin Khosrowabadi, exclaimed: “I am so glad we had a really fun Halloween social! Pizza, pumpkins, and a classic movie? What’s not to love!”
