Mock Interviews: Listen and Learn

CSUN PRSSA had an interactive meeting on October 9th that was focused on helping us prepare for landing a future internship or job in the workforce. The ‘Networking Exercises’ workshop was a perfect way to get rid of the pre-interview jitters and served as an interactive guide to create comfortability in talking about ourselves professionally.

As a member of E-board, myself and other board members created a powerpoint to provide a visual aid in first informing all of the members on how to dress appropriately for an interview. We then moved onto the mock interviews, where everyone would have a partner and then rotate between being the interviewer and interviewee. We all had the opportunity to talk about our strengths, weaknesses, what makes us a strong candidate and then received some insightful feedback about our responses. This feedback was perfect for us to make self-corrections to avoid future conversational mishaps in our professions.

We left the workshop feeling closer, more confident, and ready to nail our next interview!
